Anita Chan

Anita Chan began her music studies at age 10 on the piano and began the viola at 15 with Mr Lim Soon Lee. She continued her musical studies in Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA) under Mr Liu Hao Yu and Ms Janice Tsai. While in NAFA, she was actively involved in the NAFA Orchestra and NAFA Project Strings under the baton of Maestro Lim Yau and Mr Foo Say Ming respectively. Prior to graduating in NAFA, Anita was accepted into the
Royal College of Music, London (RCM) in 2015 where she studied with Professor Berent Kofker. In 2016, Anita transferred to the Peabody Institute of the Johns Hopkins University. At Peabody, Anita performed with the Peabody Concert Orchestra and Peabody Symphony Orchestra and Peabody Studio Orchestra. Conductors included Marin Alsop, Joseph Young, Nicholas Hersh and Edward Polochik. Anita also had the opportunity to attend the
Wintergreen Performing Summer Music Academy where she studied chamber music with Professor Ross Monroe Winter and Professor Wesley Baldwin. Anita has been privileged to play in numerous masterclasses including lessons
taught by Yizhak Schotten, Steve Larson, Anne Marie Brink and Daphne Gerling. Anita holds a Bachelor of Music in Viola Performance under the guidance of Professor Victoria Chiang.
