About

Rae Stroeve was born and raised in the Pacific Northwest. They started on guitar at the age of 12 taking guitar lessons and being involved in School of Rock summer programs. At the age of 13 they made the switch to bass.
Freshman year of High School they started playing in a jazz band on the electric bass. By Junior year they started learning how to play upright bass continuing in jazz band and then started playing in symphonic band. After High School they continued their studies with upright bass and electric bass at Portland Community College playing in the Chamber Ensemble and Music Club run by them and their friend Erik. Once they transferred over to Portland State University they joined orchestra and jazz combo while completing their bachelor of science degree.
During their undergrad they taught bass, guitar, and ukulele lessons independently and through Oregon Music Academy. Their philosophy on teaching is that anyone at any age can play an instrument as long as they are given the right tools. Currently they are involved in two bands, Unholy Crown and Malady. In their free time outside of music they enjoy going out into nature, board games, card games, video games, and spending time with their partner Tab.
