About

Catherine Ackermann (Cat) is a multi-instrumentalist and vocalist from Pueblo, CO. She attained her Bachelor of Music degree in Jazz and Commercial Studies from the University of Denver in 2011 and continues to specialize in jazz piano. She also played flute in Symphonic and Concert Band all throughout middle and high school and was the section leader for Symphonic Band 1 and the Top Marching Band for Pueblo South High School her junior and senior years. She has been teaching piano and flute for 18 years and voice for ten years. Cat has performed in several bands, including the classic rock/folk group Petals of Spain (2008-2011), goth pop band Roniit (2010-2018), black metal band Bristlecone (2016), ambient duo Yuanfen Dream (2018-present), hardcore metal band Moons (2021-2023), and her original alternative rock band The Sleep Escape (2008-present). Cat is a genuine lover of improvisation, music theory, and the joy that teaching and performing music has always brought to her life.
