About

Althea Wincek is a jazz pianist, composer, and songwriter currently studying jazz composition at Berklee College of Music. Their lifelong passion for music began when their attempt to learn songs on piano resulted in starting piano lessons at the age of 6. Inspired by musicians such as Thelonious Monk and Mary Lou Williams, they began specializing in jazz at 13. They started performing professionally in high school, playing in everything from big bands to quartets to solo piano, and also started learning percussion and guitar.

Althea has experience teaching young students with little to no experience. In addition to this, they also have a background in music theory, piano technique, and compositional techniques
