About
Betsy Lecheler grew up in the central coast of California, where she began learning piano starting at age 4. She moved to the beautiful land of Minnesota for college, majoring in Music at University of Northwestern, St. Paul. A few of her influences were professors Dr. Richard Lange (piano), Dr. Philip Norris (Music Theory), Dr. Leonard Danek (composition), and Dr. Tim Sawyer (choral). She's participated in piano master classes and competed in and won the Concerto/Aria competition in 2007. It was during college that Betsy also learned piano pedagogy (how to teach piano students), and began teaching her first students. In 2008 she graduated with a Bachelors in General Music. She continued teaching on and off for the next 17 years. With her husband and young children, she moved back from Minnesota to California and settled in the La Mesa area, where they keep busy with Little League and their church community. Betsy teaches classical piano to students of all ages, and deeply enjoys encouraging students to excel and love the music they play.
