Jon Sherwood grew up with 4 grandparents who all played music professionally. He has Bachelor’s in music and theatre and has taught K-12 music for 22 years. He also has a Masters degree in music education. He has also recorded 4 albums of his own music playing acoustic guitar and singing lead and background vocals. He has been in many rock, pop, gospel, musicals and jazz bands. He enjoys working with a wide array of students. I teach mainly beginning-intermediate guitar and voice lessons. He is cool but also expects a lot from his students. Teaches chords, notes, basic tablature, strum patterns, reading music, playing from ear, dynamics, harmony, breathing, articulation, music history. His lesson books are inexpensive and feature songs to be learned in classical, jazzy, folk, pop, world abd, of course, rock and roll. When the chords/ notes on guitar or voice are learned, the student can pick their own favorite and leveled songs and he’ll learned them to teach to you. He loves singers and guitar together.
