About

Ethan Minard is a multi-instrumentalist based out of Boulder, Colorado. Ethan offers instruction in piano and percussion through Traveling Music Lessons, teaching students of all ages, skill levels and styles. Ethan is passionate about working with students of any age, and he feels lucky to be able to share his love of music with others.

Ethan began studying piano at age seven with a local piano teacher in his hometown of Dillon, Colorado. He started studying percussion just a few years later in his formative years. After attending several music summer camps to play percussion and piano, Ethan decided to pursue a life as a professional musician. With encouragement from his parents and teacher, Dr. Linda Shea, Ethan went on to study music at the University of Colorado, Boulder in 2016. At CU, he studied with Dr. Jennifer Hayghe, and he graduated May 2020 with a Bachelor of Arts in Music, a minor in business and certificates in music entrepreneurship and music technology.

In addition to teaching piano lessons, Ethan works part time at a nursing home in Longmont as an activities assistant where he plays piano and guitar for the residents on a regular basis. He also works as a social worker for Central Visitation Program. Ethan currently plays drum set in an indie rock band named "Mellowpunk." His band released a full album in early 2021, and they play regular shows around Boulder and Denver. In his free time, Ethan likes to work on writing his own music and also enjoys painting in his home-made art studio.
