Mark Gurrola is from Lubbock, TX, where he began playing piano and trumpet. He has music composition degrees from Texas Tech University and University of South Florida and has a wide range of performing experience - having performed on piano, trumpet, accordion, harp, and vocals in a variety of settings, ranging from Celtic, Balkan, and Ceili bands, to sound baths, jazz ensembles, orchestras, musicals, and immersive theater. Mark moved to San Antonio in 2019 and has been teaching here since. He customizes each lesson for the individual, finding what works best for the student while keeping the material exciting and rewarding. Mark has worked with ages elementary through adult and with all skill levels. Mark can be spotted at a local coffee shop, in his kitchen cooking, or reading a book with his cats Fugi and Galileo.
