A San Diego native, Kacie received her Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from the Wheaton College Conservatory of Music in Illinois and completed her Master of Music in Vocal Performance at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville. She has been a featured soloist with the Colorado Springs Chorale, Chamber Orchestra of the Springs, Opera Theatre of the Rockies, Colorado Vocal Arts Ensemble, and Parish House Baroque. Kacie specializes in opera, choral music, art song, high church music and chant, and even dips her toes into the jazz pool from time to time. Her previous opera roles include Zerlina (Don Giovanni), Second Lady (Die Zauberflöte), Young Alice (Glory Denied), Adina (L’elisir d’amore), Laurie (The Tender Land), Susanna (Le Nozze di Figaro), Monica (The Medium), and Emily Webb (Our Town). Kacie enjoys teaching students of all ages, especially her older church choir folks. As a music teacher, Kacie loves helping her students discover their unique voices and freedom in their movement as performing musicians. She has spent the past year substitute teaching in various schools around the Denver area, and has experience working with students aged Pre-K to 12th grade. Kacie believes in teaching through a holistic lens that incorporates music theory, aural skills, and Alexander technique to help students achieve greater proficiency in music.
