About
Thayer Aletheia-Zomlefer is a guitarist, singer, songwriter, performer, producer and multi-instrumentalist from Phoenix, Arizona. Thayer graduated with Honors from the University of Miami's Frost School of Music after receiving a full Presidential Scholarship for his studies. He majored in Musicianship, Artistry Development, and Entrepreneurship with a minor in Art History and Classics. After finishing college, Thayer moved to Nashville, TN where he is currently a teacher, performer and session musician.
Thayer is well versed in many genres of music and schools of theory. He has played in rock, metal, jazz, funk, fusion, R&B, hip-hop, country and pop bands all around the country as well as several classical ensembles as a percussionist. He has played on many stages over the last decade including clubs, festivals, arenas, and trade shows opening for such artists as Lynyrd Skynyrd and Joan Jett. Just last year, Thayer performed as the guitarist and singer for the house band of the Florida Panthers at Amerant Bank Arena. Thayer has gained recognition for his proficiency in the guitar from a young age, earning him spots on VH1, MTV and a sponsorship from famous rock and roll photographer Robert M. Knight's Brotherhood of the Guitar.
Along his journey, Thayer has consistently helped other musicians find their voices and develop their skills. He began teaching lessons at the age of 13 to students of varying ages. Teaching has always been a passion of his and he continues to challenge his knowledge of musicianship to better his own abilities as well as his students. Thayer thrives on cultivating creative breakthroughs for his students and seeing their aha moments. There is always more to be learned and deeper understandings to be discovered from what is already known. It is a core belief of Thayer's teaching method that thoughtful musical discussion should always accompany technical studies to guide students toward a realization of their own artistic potential as well as the artistic potential of the world around them.
