Alexis Ivanic was born and raised in Rockford, Illinois, where she started studying the piano as early as four years old. Over the next 14 years, Alexis formally studied the piano, playing competitively and for various opportunities in accompaniment, jazz bands, and pit orchestras. After attending the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign, studying Sociology and Communications, Alexis moved from her home state to Denver, Colorado, privately continuing her practice of the piano. Alexis has a strong background in childcare and caring for individuals with disabilities, having served as a program director in childcare programming, Registered Behavioral Technician in ABA therapy, and a respite provider. Beginning to miss the inter-personal connection she experienced through music, Alexis sought out her first pursuit towards teaching the piano, taking on group lessons in local public schools. As a young student, Alexis dreamed of teaching private piano lessons to eager learners, and is very excited to meet the pianists of Traveling Music Lessons. Alexis loves living in the Denver area, and spends time at home with her two cats, Doja and Moony.
