About

Anne Fitzjames attended the University of Oklahoma. She has studied with graduates of Moscow Conservatory, Juilliard, Manhattan School of Music and Eastman Conservatory. She has 30 years of teaching experience, and she believes in teaching the fundamentals of music from the first lesson. She uses adjunct pieces to reinforce concepts presented in method books and works to find pieces the student is motivated to play.. She incorporates work sheets and an occasional game to reinforce theory concepts believing that repetition is an important key to learning. Her goal is to foster a love of playing music that can be part of the student’s life for many many years. She has played with a flute player at assisted-living facilities for the past 12 years and has also played with a trio (piano, violin and cello) for many years. For six years, she played at Holy Ghost Catholic Church in downtown Denver as accompanist to the cantor. Anne has been married for 51 years, and she has 2 birth children and 4 children adopted from Ethiopia along with rescue dogs and rescue horses. Parent participation is welcome.
