On September 1st, 1987, Jamie Gammel started piano lessons at the age of two. 35 years later and she brings attention to how music can lead children and young adults together through the joy of making music, learning an instrument as well as how it teaches valuable skills such as commitment, teamwork and tolerance. At the age of eight, Jamie played in her first ensemble.. In 2008, Jamie made her debut playing Rachmaninoff: Piano Concerto no.2 op.18 with the The Phoenix Symphony. Later she was selected to play the Nutcracker for the Phoenix Ballet. Jamie has played concerts of Bach, Mozart and Beethoven. She continues to appear in recitals and as a soloist with major orchestras throughout the country. Her interpretations of the music of J.S. Bach have established her as one of the composer’s foremost interpreters of our time. Though a classical pianist, Jamie enjoys playing popular songs, new age, and jazz music. Her favorite band is the Piano Guys, often playing their music and attending concerts.
