James Weir is a multi-instrumentalist born and raised in Simi Valley, California. He first began plucking his dad’s guitar at the young age of 7 and from much exposure to rock, jazz, and funk he quickly became comfortable on the guitar. As his skills on the guitar improved James also developed a passion for other instruments. Though strongest on the guitar, James also plays bass, drums, piano, alto saxophone, and vocals. James got his start performing at his local church in Simi Valley where he played every week for 5 years. With a background in church music James earned a scholarship to study business and music performance at Concordia University Irvine and currently holds a BA in Business Administration. While in studying and playing guitar in college James formed a rock band of his own and is currently the lead guitarist for The Waiting Room where he performs local gigs in the LA and Ventura County area. James is passionate teacher who loves to share his 10+ years of guitar knowledge and help others grow into talented musicians.
