About

Grant is a self taught songwriter, and well seasoned guitar, bass, and drum teacher with music production experience. He teaches a variety of styles, from country to rock, and pop to jazz.. He has experience teaching beginners (basics such as chords, strumming patterns, and reading tabs), intermediate (ear training, scales, different techniques), and advanced students(modes, improvisation, transcribing). His teaching methods include learning by ear and using tabs. He also focuses on developing technique, music theory, and improvisation skills. Grant keeps students motivated by setting clear, achievable goals and celebrating their progress. He helps them learn songs they love with incremental difficulty so they don't get discouraged.

When Grant joined his first band in middle school, he received first hand experience with professional studio recording sessions studios. This led to Grant to experiment recording songs on his own in his bedroom in high school, recording all the instruments (guitar, bass, drums, vocals, and even a little piano). Grant has released 100s of songs over the last decade. He started playing in bands in middle school and never looked back! He currently plays with several groups around Austin, including The Kristen Gibbs Band. Now, over a decade later, Grant has played thousands of gigs, has successful streaming music, and is now working on his 10th album.
