Currently living in the Murfreesboro Tennessee, Spencer grew up in Knoxville, where he was introduced to music from a young age by his Dad and older brother. He began to play at age 12, and was teaching by age 15. Initially playing piano in church at 14, he then learned the guitar, bass, and drums from there.

He moved to Murfreesboro in 2021 to attend MTSU, where he is minoring in music. Having played numerous gigs, including with the likes of country artist Josh Gracin, and played on several albums, Spencer continues to teach and spread the joy of music. He likes to cater his teaching style to what best fits the student and their interests. Many of Spencer's students appreciate his young age, and his ability to relate to them, as well as his ability to teach techniques and theoretical concepts.
