Lydia Eku is a passionate music educator and seasoned performer with experience across theater, film, and live music. Originally from Louisville, Kentucky, she spent over a decade in Atlanta working in the performing arts and teaching music before relocating to Orlando, Florida, where she currently performs as a principal vocalist at Walt Disney World.
Lydia’s stage credits include The Color Purple, The First Noel, and In the Red and Brown Water, along with film appearances in Respect and several independent productions. She has also performed as a lead vocalist on cruise ships such as the Norwegian Escape and Virgin Voyages’ Scarlet Lady.
As a teacher, Lydia offers personalized instruction in voice, piano, and songwriting. She works with students of all ages and skill levels, focusing on technique, creativity, and confidence-building. Whether guiding a beginner through their first piano notes, helping a young singer prepare for an audition, or mentoring a student in crafting original songs, Lydia brings warmth, experience, and encouragement to every lesson.
Beyond teaching and performing, Lydia co-hosts the podcast Black Table Read, writes a monthly newsletter titled Times Like These, and produces creative content through her company, LEField Productions.
She’s excited to support each student’s musical journey and create a positive, inspiring learning environment.
