About

Julian started his journey as a violinist in elementary school at the age of ten. He didn’t discover his passion for music until switching to the viola in his third year of high school. Immediately he was placed in the top orchestra as the principle violist. At that time, he began taking private lessons and was able to join the Georgia Piedmont Youth Orchestra and the Fulton County Honor Orchestra. He continued to develop his musical abilities after being accepted into the Kennesaw Symphony Orchestra. Over his years at Kennesaw, his studies in music consisted of the Kennesaw Symphony and Philharmonic Orchestras, Quartets/Quintets and private lessons. In his free time he studied Bach’s Suites on the cello and Chopin’s Nocturnes on the piano. After college he was able to tutor his own violin students at Gross Pointe Music Academy in Michigan. Now after settling back in Georgia, he continues to grow his repertoire across all the string instruments and even continues his nine year hobby of producing music.

“I believe for students to do their best I must first find that spark. That spark can come as an inspiration, a hunger to grow or a new revelation that deepens your desire to know more. The best way to find that is to find works that speak to them in some way. That way they’ll be able to translate that emotion into their sound and move their listeners. Of course it will take practice and dedication to really help them get to the best they can be but it will come easily in an encouraging and pressure free environment.”
