Miss Lauren Christiansen has roughly 10 years of experience playing the piano, but stopped around 17. She never formerly stopped though, and took every opportunity possible to practice or read notes. She is now fortunate enough to be able to help her young daughters practice for their lessons. While it had been quite some time since she played consistently, working with her children brought the skill right back to the level it was at about 20 years ago. She asserts that “once you learn the piano, you never really forget how to play the piano. As long as you know the notes, you can do and learn everything all over again. It’s just like riding a bike. You might be a little bit shaky at first, but soon enough, you’re advancing down cliffs and peddling up hills.” Coincidentally, the opportunity to teach piano came up through Traveling Music Lessons. Miss Christiansen is very excited to be able to work with children, which she already does as a teacher of 14 years. Furthermore, she cannot wait to teach a musical instrument and put her revamped skills to use.

Miss Christiansen graduated from Xavier University with a BA degree in English. She lives in Huntington Beach, California with her two daughters Olivia (8) and Cora (6). She also earned her single subject credential in 2018 from California State, University of Long Beach. When she is not teaching piano or English class, she is busy reading a good book playing games with her children, or going outside and taking advantage of the beautiful weather in California.
