About

Fiona Anderson is a classically trained pianist and vocalist based in Huntington Beach, with deep expertise in classical music theory and history. She welcomes students of all ages, from young elementary to young adults, and customizes her teaching approach to fit each student’s unique learning style. Her lessons balance music theory, sight reading, and the technical and dynamic aspects of playing and singing.

Fiona’s teaching style is structured yet lighthearted, offering a tailored experience that matches the pace and needs of each student. She encourages students to practice outside of lessons to maximize their progress and the value of their investment.

Currently pursuing a Master’s degree in therapy, Fiona continues to engage in her passion for music through writing, recording, performing, and teaching. She grew up in Colorado, where she studied classical piano from the age of 9 under Elena Mathys, a renowned instructor from the Latvian State Conservatory. Fiona also trained in classical and operatic voice with Amanda Balestrieri from ages 13 to 18. Additionally, she gained experience in musical theatre with Parlando School for the Arts, performing notable roles in productions like *Oliver Twist* and *Annie*.

During her college years at Colorado State University, Fiona expanded her musical expertise by joining various music clubs, recording her own music, and participating in shows and competitions. After moving to San Diego in the fall of 2023, she began teaching music on the side, finding special joy in sharing her knowledge and learning through teaching. Despite her academic pursuits, Fiona remains dedicated to teaching and continues to create her own music.
