Pearce started playing guitar at the age of 12 in his hometown of Kansas City, MO. After two years of private guitar lessons, he had the opportunity to take music theory classes in high school, as well as attend the Grammy Music Revolution Project songwriting camp. These experiences kicked off the next 12 years as a private guitar teacher and gigging musician. Today, he finds himself in North Austin, gigging weekly in the greater metropolitan area with his band Rippleberry.

His comfort instrument is guitar, but he also has bass, keyboard, and music production skills. He particularly enjoys bands like the Flaming Lips, the Pixies, and the Beatles. Regardless, he enjoys letting students lead lessons with their own tastes.

His teaching style pulls from a variety of disciplines, musical and otherwise. Any given lesson will pull from jazz education, classical guitar technique, or rock riffs and melodies. He spent the better part of the last 4 years in the non-profit sector, teaching adults the skills necessary to launch careers in the tech industry. Recently, he's been teaching kids' classes on topics ranging from chess to music production to Roblox programming through various organizations.

All this to say, Pearce is an open-minded, patient teacher who has experience with all ages and skill levels. He's as comfortable talking Roblox games with your kid as he is teaching them fundamental musical skills. Or, if you're an adult seeking lessons, he can ramble about the silly experiences he’s had teaching kids about Roblox programming.
