Professional multi-instrumentalist and music instructor for hire, with 20+ years of experience! Well versed in many styles and genres, Beau has taught all ages/skill levels in settings as varied as schools, homes, and production studios.

Friendly, patient, and giving, he applies an unhurried and focused approach to help students get the most from each session. The first lesson is dedicated to finding which techniques come most naturally to the student, based on their own unique musical aspirations and natural way of engaging with their instrument. Together, they establish a wholly customized lesson structure using exercises and songs that inspired the student to learn music in the first place.

For the most natural and lasting approach to long-term skills development, lesson plans and materials are centered around each student’s own heart-felt music goals and aspirations. Accordingly:

For Beginners: Beau takes the student on the straightest route possible to the bedrock skills that prove fun, easy, and rewarding. By zeroing in on the student's own innate proclivities and interests, they develop a consistent momentum that makes it easier to remember each exercise. The main goal is to establish self-learning techniques that will carry the student forward in their budding musical (and life!) aspirations.

Intermediate Students: Beau and the student dedicate their time to setting and achieving the student’s personally held musical aspirations. To these ends, they direct their efforts toward the next most logical techniques while respecting the all-important threshold between attainability and challenge. More time is spent developing tone and technique while continually building out your musical repertoire.

Advanced Lessons: Highly experienced students receive supportive feedback on which skills/passages require more attention. By the end of each lesson, the student will have a new, custom-tailored training regimen to refine difficult passages so they become smooth and effortless. On request, Beau can also bring professional recording equipment to reveal how the student's chosen material is developing, free of bias.

Students looking for something new can also receive instruction in fingerstyle, technical lead work, slap-percussive, flamenco, and playing multiple layers at the same time.

Beau has also professionally taught drums, piano, and voice, including at dedicated music schools. He's also fully capable of teaching the more technical aspects of music production, founded in a formal Bachelor’s degree and career in the recording arts.

Lessons are held from the comfort of home, providing a learning environment free of stress or logistics challenges—an important aspect of maximizing the student's hard-won efforts and developing new skills efficiently.
