Teaches in Southern California

From Los Angeles, California

Plays Guitar, and Voice

About

Originally from the San Francisco Bay Area, Rosie has lived in Southern California for the last 17 years and is so excited to be teaching voice and guitar! She fell in love with jazz at age 7 when she heard Ella Fitzgerald on the radio and has been singing her heart out ever since to music of all genres. For 16 years, she was a regular member of choirs, including the chamber choir at University of California, Irvine and Angel City Chorale in Los Angeles. She's had the opportunity to sing with choirs in Budapest, Vienna, Prague, New Orleans, and even to record a couple of songs at Abbey Road studios! In 2017 she started singing with jazz and big bands, which was a lifelong dream realized. She now plays in the L.A. area with big bands, octets, quintets and duos. For voice teaching, Rosie coaches students not only from the perspective of vocal performance and ear training, but also the physiology behind the voice and getting students in tune with their voices and nervous systems as unique instruments. She is also excited to teach beginning guitar students to get a handle on their basics. When she's not singing or teaching, you can find Rosie reading, going for walks near the Santa Monica Pier, or playing tug-of-war with her pug-Frenchie mix, aka baby raptor.
