Maria Vejdani is a passionate and versatile music educator from Burnsville, Minnesota, with a deep commitment to developing singers and musicians of all ages. From a young age, Maria’s love for music was nurtured through her involvement in choir and theater, leading her to pursue a degree in vocal music education at Luther College. During her time at Luther, she honed her craft as a member of the prestigious Nordic Choir and took on leadership roles, including directing and arranging for a student-led a cappella group. It was there that she received a rich classical music education that would serve as the foundation for her dynamic teaching career.
After earning her degree, Maria became the Director of Vocal Music at Delano High School, where she directed multiple choral ensembles and taught private lessons. After several years of teaching, she sought to deepen her artistic and pedagogical skills by enrolling in the Master of Music program at McNally Smith College of Music, where she explored contemporary styles, vocal technique, songwriting, and studio recording.
Maria's journey as both a teacher and a lifelong learner took an interesting turn when she took a brief hiatus to help open Olivia's Organic Café, a family business in her hometown. This experience gave her a fresh perspective on the importance of music in her life, and she soon returned to her true passion: teaching music.
As a teacher, Maria is dedicated to helping students unlock the full potential of their voices through a balanced approach to vocal technique, musicianship, and performance preparation. She emphasizes the science of vocal mechanics, encouraging students to explore different styles and expand their vocal range. In addition to teaching voice, she also teaches piano and ukulele lessons. With a student-centered approach, Maria tailors each lesson to the individual, whether they’re focused on mastering a challenging vocal run, exploring songwriting, or preparing for an audition. She believes that lessons should be as much about personal expression as they are about technical growth.
Outside the studio, Maria enjoys practicing yoga and cherishing time with her young daughter. Whether performing, teaching, or learning, Maria’s passion for music is at the heart of everything she does, and she brings that enthusiasm to every lesson she teaches.
