Jon Harrison Taylor is an accomplished guitarist, singer-songwriter, and educator with over 15 years of teaching experience. As the youngest son of R&B icon Johnnie Taylor, Jon was immersed in music from an early age, a passion that has taken him across the world as a touring and studio guitarist for renowned artists under Sony/Epic and Interscope Records. His career has included performances across the U.S., Europe, and Asia, where he brought his soulful, blues-inspired style to global audiences.
Jon’s talents have also shone on television, with memorable performances on shows like Ellen, Soul Train, and Top of the Pops. In addition to his music career, Jon’s theatrical work includes starring in Soul: The Stax Musical and at Baltimore’s Center Stage, where he portrayed Wilson Pickett and his father, Johnnie Taylor, performing their iconic hits with authenticity and reverence.
As a teacher, Jon’s philosophy blends foundational guitar techniques with creativity and self-expression. He inspires students by tailoring lessons to their interests, encouraging them to explore blues, rock, and soul music while developing their unique voice.
