About

Born and raised in São Paulo, Brazil, Leo Testoni discovered his passion for music early, inspired by the vibrant sounds of his musician father. Starting with classical guitar, he quickly expanded to electric and acoustic styles, launching his professional career at just 16. Over the years, Leo has performed with iconic Brazilian artists such as Seu Jorge, Paula Lima, João Parahyba (Trio Mocotó), and the legendary rock band Casa das Máquinas.

Leo’s musical journey includes standout moments like performing the Brazilian national anthem at WGP Kickboxing events in São Paulo’s largest arenas, broadcast worldwide, and touring with Casa das Máquinas, leaving his mark on Brazil’s rock scene. He also showcased his versatility in 2016, playing guitar, acoustic, and ukulele in the Broadway revival of Godspell in São Paulo.

A dedicated educator since 2005, Leo has over 15 years of teaching experience. He served as a coordinator at Sons school in São Paulo, where he mentored countless students and directed programs in guitar, theory, and ensemble performance. His solo album, Arranged & Spontaneous Sessions (2018), features collaborations with renowned artists like Carl Verheyen (Supertramp), reflecting his deep connection to music creation and performance.

In 2022, Leo relocated to the U.S. to pursue a master’s in guitar performance on a full scholarship at Utah State University. There, he taught courses, coached jazz combos, and performed with ensembles like the USU Jazz Orchestra. With his wife, he leads Duet Paty & Leo, a project that has taken him to stages across Europe, South America, and the U.S., including performances at the prestigious Umbria Jazz Festival and a recording with Danny Gottlieb of the Pat Metheny Group.

Now based in Los Angeles, Leo offers personalized traveling music lessons tailored to each student’s goals, whether you’re a beginner finding your first chords or an advanced player refining your craft. His teaching combines his extensive professional experience with a passion for helping students discover their unique musical voice.
