About

Marcelo was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, raised in Colorado but has lived in Austin, TX for 19 years.
A graduate of Musician’s Institute College of Contemporary Music he majored in Music Composition & Performance.
An early performer at age 11, he pursued music in the 6th grade as a drummer/percussionist then became active in Junior & High School bands and expanded his music studies both as a bassist and guitarist in Jazz Ensembles participating in and winning state-wide music competitions against other schools in the U.S. Later as a dedicated guitarist, 1990 saw him moving to Los Angeles to attend Musician’s Institute (GIT) to study with world-class players such as Fusion guitar master Scott Henderson (Tribal Tech) renowned Jazz guitarist Norman Brown, Rock bass legend Tim Bogert (Jeff Beck, Vanilla Fudge, Cactus), master guitar educators Keith Wyatt, Dan Gilbert and Ross Bolton exposing him to traditional Jazz, Funk Fusion and World Music, which opened up and transformed his playing.

After graduating from MI, he gained valuable live performance experience throughout the 90’s/2000’s playing in various bands/studio projects performing in a variety of musical genres 5-nights a week touring the West Coast and Southwest U.S. clocking over 1000 gigs within the decade. He’s an active guitar and bass instructor in the Austin area and continues to perform, compose, record/produce from his personal studio Songsketcher Studio in Cedar Park.
