After extensive touring and working on one of the biggest shows in the world, David returned to Southern California and has been doing live concerts with various artists and studio work as well as teaching.

Jazz, blues, rock, pop, and other genres are a deep passion of David’s and have been for over four decades.

Emphasizing theory and technique, David hopes to give the tools to students to bring their playing forward to the next level.

Artists he has worked with include fusion jazz giants such as Billy Cobham, Flora Purim and Airto Moreira, George Duke, Joe Farrell, Les McCann, and many more.

The idea of inspiring young students has always been one of the best rewards. David’s former students will attest to this. Bridging between electric and acoustic styles has always served him well.


David’s teaching philosophy is that if someone has an interest in music, he will find what needs to be nurtured and set them on a forward path full of enjoyable skill development and musical satisfaction. A favorite student of David’s in the past, (Tariqh Akoni) went on to become one of the music industry's top in demand guitarists working with artists from Stevie Wonder, Christina Aguilera, David Foster, and many more and is tenured as musical director for Josh Groban.

David has found that Imparting the benefit of his long history of high level professional experience to the next generation is especially gratifying.
