Charday Sparks is a vocalist with over 10 years experience. She grew up in Rock Hill ,South Carolina and received her Bachelor's Degree of the Arts from Francis Marion University with a minor In Theatre Arts. Starting her professional career at the age of 16 she contracted with Cedar Fair Entertainment performing in a total of 8 shows through her high school and college career across 2 theme parks. When Charday was not fulfilling summer contracts during her time at Francis Marion she enjoyed her roles in both theatre and musical theatre productions as well as instructing her peers on new techniques in private groups and one-on-one sessions as they prepared for their own contracts and upcoming auditions. She also taught several workshops in both voice and musical theatre to children of all ages during events held on and off campus. Charday embraced the opportunity to deepen her knowledge and skills in the different techniques used in classical and jazz music by taking independent vocal lessons and holding occupancy as the university's appointed jazz ensemble vocalist. She was also hand-selected as a solo vocalist and performed accompanied by Tony Award winning Musical Director Sonny Plaldino at his headlining show. During her time at Francis Marion she not only developed her voice but she found a new one in songwriting and an even deeper love for live performance. Charday is passionate about great technique and outstanding performance . She knows what it takes to prepare for longevity as well as the importance of embracing and developing stage presence with music of any genre. She currently works in her craft developing her vocal ability and on-stage presence contracting with several circuit bands performing weddings , corporate and private events along the east coast. Charday finds it important to help her students connect with their pieces so that they not only sing but perform with precision. Growing stage presence with the support of proper technique so that as artists, students can feel confident to sing anything is Charday’s ultimate goal . Charday’s instruction combines her training in classical, jazz , musical theatre and contemporary voice as well as her extensive experience in the industry to assure a well-rounded curriculum. From proper vocal technique for longevity to stylized performances you think need a little something,Charday is here to help you step onto any stage with presence and precision.
