Marcus Emmery is a composer, producer, songwriter, performer, arranger, and teacher with more than 10 years of experience. He received his Bachelor’s of Music from California State University, Northridge, studying Commercial and Media Writing (composing, producing, arranging, and recording music for film/television/video games). He has experience composing, producing, arranging, and recording many different styles of music showcasing his eclectic taste, such as Filmscore, Jazz, Classical, Orchestral, Rock, Metal, Electronic, Global, Pop, Experimental, and more.

Marcus has performed in multiple different Jazz groups on the alto saxophone and piano in a Big Band context as well as in a Combo setting. He has also performed in Studio Ensembles, Wind Ensembles, Concert Bands, and Marching Bands. He has also performed in multiple rock groups on electric guitar, acoustic guitar, piano, electric bass, and vocals.

Marcus has been teaching private lessons for more than 10 years (piano, music theory, electric & acoustic guitar, electric bass), with experience teaching students of all ages and skill levels. Some students around the age of 5 to others in their 70’s. He has also taught group classes as a teacher at the “School of Rock” directing band rehearsals with students of all skill levels to further their music careers. Marcus is very thorough with all of his students ensuring that no concept is left misunderstood before progressing to new material, while simultaneously making it a priority to nurture the students’ interest in music and inspire them to have fun with it.
