Dr. Alireza Seyedi Tousi is a professional musician, educator, conductor, and performer with a distinguished career spanning over 15 successful years in music education and performance. Holding advanced degrees from the University of Redlands, Yale University, and Florida State University, he specializes in both vocal and instrumental disciplines, with a particular emphasis on voice performance, viola performance, and conducting.
As an educator, Dr. Tousi is deeply committed to fostering artistic excellence, intellectual curiosity, and personal growth in his students. His pedagogical approach integrates rigorous musicianship, interdisciplinary methodologies, and individualized mentorship, ensuring that students develop both technical mastery and profound artistic expression. He believes that music education should inspire critical thinking and a deep engagement with the art form, cultivating well-rounded musicians equipped for success in the evolving musical landscape. His expertise spans vocal training, orchestral conducting, ear training, solfège, and instrumental instruction, making him a highly versatile and sought-after educator.
Dr. Tousi has held faculty and leadership positions at several esteemed institutions, including serving as Music Director and Conductor at San Jacinto Valley Academy, where he directed the String and Symphonic Orchestras. He has also served as a Graduate Assistant at Yale University and Florida State University, where he was the primary instructor for undergraduate voice lessons. Additionally, he was a Teaching Assistant at the University of Redlands, where he taught Ear Training III and IV to undergraduate students. His extensive teaching experience extends to private instruction in voice, piano, violin and viola, with a track record of guiding students toward competitive success and artistic achievement.
As a performer, Dr. Tousi has collaborated with professional and semi-professional orchestras, showcasing his expertise not only as a violinist and violist but also as a vocalist. His work with these ensembles has allowed him to refine his artistry in both instrumental and vocal performance. Throughout his academic journey, his experiences at all three institutions have been profoundly formative, particularly during his second master’s degree at Yale University and his doctoral studies at Florida State University where he had the opportunity to work alongside world-renowned teachers, coaches, opera directors and conductors from both the United States and Europe, further enriching his artistic and pedagogical approach. Additionally, during his doctoral studies at Florida State University, he presented original research as part of his final doctoral dissertation, contributing valuable scholarship to the field of vocal performance and music education.
