Deb Kirkendall has demonstrated her dedication to music instruction in Colorado Springs and beyond, having taught music at every grade level, including an adult community choir, during her 36 year career. Her Music Education Degree was earned at Kansas State University and a Masters in Education Degree at Colorado College. That impressive proficiency in education shows that she understands students and their musical challenges and is committed to their quest for musical excellence. Recently retired from public school education, Deb continues to serve musicians of all ages in offering private voice and piano lessons, as well as occasionally teaching adult classes both locally and regionally.
Her vocal passion is further revealed as an Assistant Director and Tenor Section Leader in the Champion Velvet Hills Chorus of Sweet Adelines International, singing and instructing four-part a cappella harmony for over 30 years. Her on-stage experience includes award winning performances in several prestigious International Sweet Adeline Competitions, plus singing tenor in a multitude of quartet regional competitions.
Having recently moved to the Phoenix area, she is looking forward to teaching piano and voice lessons here. Music is a lifetime sport and students will benefit through their musical progress in a positive and enjoyable lesson experience.
