Alexa started piano lessons at a young age before moving to percussion in the school band. Throughout junior high, she developed her skills on the marimba, drum set, and piano. In high school, she performed as a percussionist in the concert orchestra and played drum set in the jazz band. Outside of school, she was the drummer in several rock bands for fun. Alexa further pursued her passion by studying music performance at University of St. Thomas, where she performed with their concert orchestra and jazz band, taking the stage at Orchestra Hall and internationally. After transferring to the University of Minnesota, Alexa minored in music performance. Upon graduation, she joined the Grand Symphonic Winds ensemble, performing as a percussionist in both the Twin Cities and Chicago. Currently, Alexa is the drummer for Dead Kings of Norway, an alternative music band that performs original music throughout the Twin Cities. Alexa is passionate about music and loves combining traditional techniques with modern approaches to make learning fun and effective. Alexa's goal as a teacher is to help every student build confidence, creativity, and a lifelong love for music.
