About

Evan is a singer, pianist, actor and dancer from the Charlotte, NC area. Inspired by the teachers who helped early in career, Evan began teaching privately to share the love of music with others.

Evan values versatility and tailors lessons to each student’s goals and interests, working with both adults and youth (ages 7+) in voice, piano and songwriting. Evan especially enjoys teaching beginner to advanced singers in pop/rock, singer-songwriter, musical theatre and choral styles, as well as beginner to intermediate pianists interested in contemporary and jazz piano.

Evan encourages students to explore music as both a technical craft and a form of storytelling, drawing on their own experience as a professional singer in regional theatre (including Wagon Wheel Professional Theatre) and in live piano/vocal performance, both solo and in bands.

Evan studied theatre and music at Appalachian State University and has trained with Broadway artists Carolann Page, Thom Christopher Warren, and T. Oliver Reid, as well as opera singer Maria Brea, who has performed at the Metropolitan Opera and Carnegie Hall.

When not teaching, Evan enjoys hiking, songwriting, and trying new things.
