About

Dr. Benjamin Boskoff is a versatile and accomplished tenor and pedagogue whose career bridges the worlds of performance and education with equal depth. A Georgia native, he is celebrated for his dynamic interpretations of Bel Canto repertoire, the music of Benjamin Britten, and chamber music. His recent appearances include performances across the United States and in the Czech Republic, affirming both his international appeal and his commitment to artistic excellence.

Dr. Boskoff has brought vivid character and vocal finesse to a wide array of operatic roles, including Peter Quint (The Turn of the Screw), Tamino (Die Zauberflöte), Count Almaviva (The Barber of Seville), Don Ottavio (Don Giovanni), Prince Ramiro (La Cenerentola), and Count Ory (Le Comte Ory). He has performed with companies such as Opera North, Red River Lyric Opera, Opera MODO, Lawrence Opera Theatre, and the Rossini Club of Nantucket, among others. During the COVID-19 pandemic, he continued to perform actively, making professional debuts with Opera Project Columbus and Penn Square Music Festival. Additional recent credits include appearances in Puccini’s Il Trittico and Dove’s Pinocchio with Boulder Opera, and as the Evangelist in St. John Passion in Texas.

Equally committed to the art of teaching, Dr. Boskoff earned his Doctor of Musical Arts from the University of Colorado Boulder, where he also taught private voice, voice classes, and lyric diction. He previously earned degrees from the University of Michigan (MM) and the University of Georgia (BM), studying under esteemed mentors including Dr. Gregory Broughton, Dr. Freda Herseth, Dr. Scott Piper, and Dr. John Seesholtz. His pedagogical approach is informed by a mechanistic understanding of vocal function and a deep emphasis on healthy phonation, while also prioritizing emotional connection and the visceral experience of singing.

His academic work includes a forthcoming contribution to The Canciones Project, focused on Czech vocal repertoire for undergraduate voices, and ongoing collaborations to record Elliott Carter’s vocal chamber works. Dr. Boskoff maintains a thriving private studio, guiding singers across classical, musical theatre, and commercial styles, and is a sought-after mentor for developing artists of all levels.
