Matt Olason is a musician originally from Kelso, Washington. He started his music career at 17, playing and touring in the rock bands SEACATS and Party Mountain. He performed at many venues around the PNW, notably Bumbershoot and the Experience Music Project. He later began focusing on jazz music, performing and studying at Lower Columbia College and Portland State University. He now performs with his own jazz trio and the PNW Jazz Orchestra. He is currently finishing a BA in Education from the Evergreen State College. Matt emphasizes authenticity in education, and thinks learning is most effective when it’s fun.
