About

Jim discovered his love of music at a young age, initially studying piano and percussion. In his formative years, he marched in The Crossman - a world-class DCI, top 12 drum and bugle corps. Soon after, Jim toured Europe with The American Musical Ambassadors as a percussionist. It was no surprise when he auditioned into the Lamont School of Music in the jazz and commercial music department. During his time at the university, he quickly became involved in several very successful bands in the local Denver music scene, and he earned a reputation as one of Denver's top studio artists. He has toured and performed throughout America, and he continues to write, record, perform and produce original compositions, often playing and recording all instrumental tracks himself. In addition to bass, piano, drums and guitar, Jim teaches advanced music theory and composition for college kids and adults who may be looking for a little support through tough exams, or to plunge head first into the most intellectual parts of music. He believes music should be fun and engaging, and he tailors lesson plans to the musical goals of each unique student, beginning through advanced. He's thrilled to help you discover your highest potential.
