Syd Brown is a guitarist, vocalist, arranger, producer, orchestrator, conductor, and teacher. Syd Brown has used his arranging, performing and conducting talents in concert with such luminaries as: Della Reese, Nancy Wilson, Melba Moore, Gerald Albright, Jonathan Butler, Yolanda Adams, Ben Vereen, Gladys Knight, the Winans, the ”Iceman” Jerry Butler, Jennifer Holiday, and Jennifer Hudson to name a few.

Teaching credits include Malcolm X Community College, the Chicago Public Schools, and Christ Universal Temple as Youth Music Director.
Syd continues to play and record also acting as Music director for Reginald McLaughlin one of this year’s NEA Music Fellow recipients.
