As an educator, Samantha is dedicated to exploding the listener’s perceptions of music. She strives to bring new works to the ears of old audiences, and old works to the ears of new listeners.
Before moving back to Minnesota, where she grew up, Samantha most recently worked as a Middle School Band and General Music teacher in the New York City Public Schools. She has also been a Teaching Artist with the Seattle Symphony, where she taught a variety of curricula for all ages, and a woodwind coach with the Musical Pathways Project, a project that brings together educators from the Seattle area to expand access to quality music education within historically underserved Seattle Schools. Through her own studio, Samantha’s Music Studio, she has also taught classes and private lessons for students 2-18.
Samantha attended Cornish College of the Arts where she received a Bachelor of Music in Flute Performance, and CUNY's Hunter College where she received her Master's in Music Education.
