About

As an Affiliate Faculty member of the School of Music at CCU, Dr. Irina Moreland is known as an instructor/mentor of the highest degree, versatile stage performer and event organizer. She has performed solos with numerous Colorado orchestras and symphonies, and abroad, in Europe, Central Asia and China. As a Senior Instructor at the University of Colorado – Denver, Dr. Moreland was the pathfinder in establishing the sister institution course framework with the International College of Beijing, including teaching numerous courses the first few years of the relationship, and defining all facets of the academic exchange, as well as establishing the UCD Music Media Lab to acclaim. Her emphasis now is in reaching out to young musicians by establishing educational platforms for them to experience both competition and the joy of music, including founding the Colorado Youth Music Festival. In addition, Dr. Moreland's participation in master courses and musical enrichment programs for pre-college age students at the annual International Lyric Academy (Italy) is significant. As a long time accompanist and worship team leader at United Methodist Church and Genesis Presbyterian Church, she expressed her love of God in both traditional and contemporary services. Dr. Moreland continues her exploration of different performance styles, from classical to jazz to modernistic, including the use of technology. An active member of the Music Teachers National Association, her pre-college age students win highest awards at local/regional and national level competitions. Releases include "Virtual Infinity" (CD), articles in the “International Journal of Arts and Science"/other and articles e-reserve “French Impressionism in music” and “Analysis of History of Chamber Music from with through 20th century".
She is preparing her book publication called “Chopin, Analysis of His Etudes”.
