Catherine Carella is passionate about teaching piano and has been doing so for over 25 years in San Diego. She started her musical journey with piano lessons at age 7. Her first teacher was a graduate of the Leipzig Conservatory in Leipzig, Germany who instilled in Catherine a strong work ethic and necessary discipline that resulted in her becoming an accomplished, professional pianist. Catherine went on to learn from Dr. Grace Trebert, a graduate of Eastman School of Music, and Laverne Caton, a concert pianist.
Presently, Catherine teaches private piano lessons to students from 4 years through adults to the advanced levels. She has special training to teach the very young child.
Catherine holds a BA degree from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo in elementary education. She was also enrolled in the Eastman School of Music as a music education major.
She has played professionally throughout San Diego County for senior citizens.
She lives a few minutes south of San Diego in a nature preserve that she shares with with her 4 cats and 2 dogs.
