From Holland, Michigan
Bass, Drums, Guitar, Piano, Ukulele, and Voice
Christian hails from lakeside Holland, Michigan, where he began singing as well as playing guitar, and piano in his formative years. Music was a big part of his upbringing and so he decided to major in Guitar Performance at Hope College after being granted the equivalent of full-ride tuition through scholarships and financial aid, graduating with B.A. in 2015
Christian has over 5 years combined teaching experience of all ages over a broad variety of styles and has played in over 20 performing bands and projects throughout his career and hundreds of shows.
Currently, Christian plays in his original rock project Crooked Spires and engineers recording sessions for clients at a local music production studio Third Coast Recording Company when he's not teaching or spending time with friends and family.
His philosophy as a teacher is that everyone learns differently and learning to engage each student where they are currently at is essential to their success, sight-reading and music theory will be implemented as well as an emphasis in active listening and playing by ear learning to read chord charts as well as written sheet music so that students will be able to develop comfort and joy in both solo and full band settings.
In addition to teaching Guitar, Piano and Voice, Christian also teaches Bass, Drums, and Ukulele.
