Teaches in Phoenix, AZ
From Phoenix, Arizona
Carson MacLeod comes to us from Minneapolis, Minnesota where he began playing drums, bass, and guitar in his early years. After moving to Arizona, he played in a wide range of ensembles including jazz bands, marching band, and a wind quintet. More recently, Carson studied the French horn with Dr. Rose French and held the position of Principal Horn in the Phoenix Youth Symphony, under the direction of assistant Phoenix Symphony conductor Matthew Kasper. Currently, he plays bass guitar and sings in the local pop rock band Tracing Faces and is studying both biochemistry and piano performance at Arizona State University. His teaching style incorporates an emphasis on technique, theory, and fundamentals while also having fun. In his free time, Carson enjoys writing music, spending time with his cat, and playing everything from Beethoven to the Beatles.
