About

Irina is a professional pianist and teacher in Portland, Oregon.

She began her musical studies at Moscow’s children School of Music (Russia), and later received her Bachelor of Music degree from the prestigious Gnesin Music Academy in Music Pedagogy. She then moved to US and joined the international group of American musicians and music educators thorough OMTA.

Irina has founded large Eugene (Oregon) Russian music Choir which consisted of students of UofO, alumni, community singers, and students from adjacent high schools and colleges; and had been an artistic director of this group for over 15 years.

While living in Eugene, she received her BA degree in music at the University of Oregon School of Music. She has taught music in Waldorf School and Slavic Christian Academy.

As being an accomplished pianist, she has been enjoying prolific career as a performer and a teacher: she had performed chamber music as a soloist at the Beall Hall at the School of Music (UofO), Oregon Mozart Players, and continues playing at the Portland local chamber ensembles as being a part of Associated Portland Music Players as well as supporting programs for adult amateur players, bringing the chamber music out of the concert hall.

Irina has taught hundreds of students—both classic and modern instrumental music— ranging from the musically challenged to average to the very gifted all ages, and never lowering her standards, continues offer them the same level of her expertise and dedications. Irina is enjoying hosting chamber music gatherings in her studio in Portland, giving an opportunity to meet in the real world around something meaningful and sublime; working with local vocal groups.
