Alan has been a private piano instructor from 1984-present in piano performance, music theory, composition, classical piano, and jazz improvisation for beginning to advanced levels. He participated in NYSSMA audition preparation (New York State School Music Association.), and was a substitute instructor at Lehman College for undergraduate music courses (2006-2009).

Alan received his B.S in Music from Lehman College in 2009, and was a Berklee College of Music Full scholarship recipient from 1986-1988. He also also taught piano at Bedrock Preschool, Lehman College and Amadeus Conservatory of Music.
