Rick Friend graduated from the Oberlin Conservatory with a degree in Composition and emphasis on piano. He currently teaches piano, composition, percussion and voice in the Thousand Oaks area - all ages and all styles. Piano lessons with Rick are neither dull nor purely academic. They are fun, engaging and easy-going - music should be fun! While he holds students to a degree of academic rigor, he molds his lessons to what the student wants to get out of the experience. Students will learn to read notes, count rhythms, understand music theory, and have fun with their favorite songs.
