About

Darius Clay has been involved with music since the age of 5 years old, singing in his local choir then eventually venturing off to sing with various ensembles within the Houston area and becoming a musician for a number of music artists. Clay then began to pursue his musical studies becoming an alumnus of the prestigious Texas Southern University, studying classical music and operatic technique, thus obtaining his degree in Music Education with an emphasis in Performance. During this time Clay began to cultivate many music infused projects such as #TheHoustonShed, a networking organization in order to benefit all singers and musicians in the Houston area to collaborate and create a culture of musicianship in the city, as well as a current director of the gospel ensemble, The Intergenerational Chorale, where his choir has performed in front of various notable artist. In 2020, Clay was afforded the opportunity to be a part of the Aldine ISD family by beginning his tenure as an educator at Otis S. Calvert Elementary School where he’s been given the responsibility as the director of Music & Arts on campus.
