Justin Mandell hails from Central Florida where he began his musical training playing classical guitar and violin at age 7. In high school Justin had the opportunity to study with Grammy Winning Instrumentalist, Victor Wooten. Justin furthered his studies at the University of North Florida where he earned a bachelor's degree in Jazz Performance. He has performed alongside some of the jazz greats including Kurt Elling and Wycliffe Gordon (of Wynton Marsalis Lincoln Center Orchestra). Justin has earned many awards over the years including the prestigious Louis Armstrong Award. He has been teaching guitar and bass classes for 17 years. He has experience teaching young kids and adults and has taught nearly all genres from bluegrass to jazz. Justin has recently relocated to Portland where he lives with his wife Catherine.
