About

David has a passion for teaching his students to be their very best at guitar. He started to learn how to play when he was 8 years old and has performed many times in his life. His dad was the first one to teach him and he always looks up to his dad for being such a kind, patient and loving teacher. David takes that same approach and creates an atmosphere of support and encouragement for all his students to succeed and do their best. One of his songs called "Evolve" is about overcoming challenges and learning to be excellent at guitar can certainly be challenging, but David believes you can improve and get to that level with practice. Later in life, David took lessons from the author of the Fretboard Logic series, a great collection of books that teaches important concepts regarding the patterns on the fretboard as a result of the guitar's tuning. After taking lessons with Bill, David also took lessons from Sandra Bae, and lastly, Muriel Anderson, both professional fingerstyle guitarists. David can teach any genre of music and as for styles of playing, David likes to teach fingerstyle guitar. Developing the dexterity, speed, and learning how to improvise and compose along with understanding music theory to aid your creativity is what David excels at teaching. He looks forward to teaching any student to the best of his ability and making them shine.
As for personal hobbies, David enjoys swing dancing, and playing chess. His favorite video game is Super Smash Ultimate and he mains Pikachu!
