About

Rachel began her music career in 3rd grade after falling in love with listening to her stepmom play piano for her. She started taking lessons shortly after and proceeded to stick with it for 10 years in her hometown of McHenry, Illinois. During that time she participated in 3 recitals per year, sonata festivals, Grand Piano duet concerts, and Guild (a yearly assessment where students perform in front of professional judges to get graded on 4 pieces from the 4 different music periods). After her first year attending college at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, Rachel decided to switch majors from Kinesiology to Music! Everyday she passed the music building and for the first time in her life she had full-time access to playing on a Grand Piano. This pleasure soon turned into a passion when she was introduced to the path of Music Therapy during another student's presentation on the subject. Rachel got accepted into the Music+ program at UIUC for her second year and chose to pursue both music and psychology.
Since graduating in 2020 with a Bachelor of Arts in Music, Rachel has taught piano in two different locations! In her free time, Rachel enjoys hiking, yoga, traveling, and writing her own music when she feels inspired.
